I'm very pleased with the Woodpecker plate as well. They also sell an MDF plate template for making the opening - works perfectly...
I've had mine for around 7 years. Extremely handy tool. I even use it for cutting holes in sheetrock for electrical boxes.
Yep, totally agree. It's irresponsible to cast dispersions without investing a tiny bit of one's own time and finding out first. People are so quick to act-out being a victim.
>>> Yes, because their website clearly states:
Uh, no. If you think they're not in business, pick up the phone and invest 1 minute of your time and find out. Faster than slamming on the...
Again, is this Highland's problem if someone doesn't have time to call them via their FREE 800#?
>>> For reasons I won't go into - I was in a situation where I couldn't just call them up.
Is that then, your problem, or theirs?
If it were me, I'd make the tiny effort of calling an 800#...
Dave, I've been using my Fein II for about 7 years now. Really pleased with it - works well and is quiet. I'm going to get another Fein, the smaller Turbo I, for a dedicated station.
BTW, the...
One thing I like about my Fein II (and mandatory for me) is the optional HEPA filter. No such option available for the CT Midi unfortunately - with the larger Festool vacs HEPA is standard.
Yes, both the Fein and PC vacs use paper bags. Around $11 to $12 for a pack of 3. That's the only way to go - keeps things clean and easy.

I've had both the Fein 9-55-13 and the older PC 7810 for about 6 years now. I like them both.
The Fein is a little quieter, the PC has slightly more suction. My Fein is set up with the optional...
Does it have a brake? Some of the cheapie drivers don't and when you release the trigger it keeps spinning...
I just got mine and love it. Bought it at Hartville Tool - a great place. Price there is $31.98

Where was that stated? It was mentioned they were 3-4 years old.

I dunno. Don't think that's something I need. My Unifence is very accurate and just as important, repeatable. Have never had an issue working with wood where more precision and accuracy...
I've seen birdseye maple 3/4" ply for $200 a sheet. That's pricey...
Also, there's some really nice bamboo ply in San Francisco, that's absolutely gorgeous - except the price. $190/sheet...
>>> Any opinions on best saw to control dust with a vac attached?
Since your requirement is "best," the answer is Festool.
Hey, it's back to normal!
And magically the little voices inside my head stopped - no longer feel the need to go out and drop a grand on Fein tools...
Jaime....
I'm in your area - and aware of PALS (in SF, SJ, and Emeryville), Southern Lumber, and MacBeath in Berkeley. Any other good plywood vendors to consider?
Unfortunately Jordan's in...
Looks like mine - a great saw. You can set a router in the right end of the table....
So Fein has become a major forum sponsor???
If the goal was to make reading difficult, I'd say the effort was successful.
And how bout shop vacs with 5 & 6 HP ratings! Maybe I should remove their motor (which probably weighs a couple pounds) and strap it in my Unisaw - which somehow only manages 3 HP from a motor...
Can you point to how this is done? Thanx...
Again, getting back to that particular San Mateo WW show, HERE are the details:
