Sorry, was in a hurry on my way out and thought this was new. Mod, feel free to delete this.
Wow, I'd like to learn how these guys sharpen their planes! :)

The guru himself posted! :D Mr. Thien, why don't any companies include your baffle? I'm assuming you have been approached?
I do hope the critiques here are well meaning and they sure seem to be, but for what it's worth a small minority of people post their work online and so good for you! I sure miss my Domino. I really...
Not a hater, just being honest! Maybe I got a bad one, but my WWII combo is not that impressive. Seems to burn easy and the quality of cut was never mind blowing, yet my Freuds on the same saw work...
The latest FWW had an article full of suggestions to improve dust collector performance including baffles and external cyclones. I couldn't help think that what they were really saying was the dust...
Okay, I am really tempted to continue the Hobbit jokes, but I will try to stay on topic. I don't have a Saw Stop, but have used both quite a bit at friends shops. They are both great saws. My friend...
That would be a shame. I didn't read carefully above and realize you had a router investment as well. I didn't so it wasn't a big deal for me - just a nice upgrade to the lift. I'd have a hard time...
Plus, the ICS table iron is dwarf forged, "Made in Moria" so that might mean something to you.
I thought this was just my rotten luck. I have since gone with a Woodpecker lift which fits perfectly and flat. I really enjoyed throwing the out of flat Benchdog plate away - I may have even spit on...
Not to be a downer, but I only use mine for the wife's knives (I have the attachment). All my planes and chisels are sharpened on stones and if I need to establish a new bevel, I use a 6" grinder. I...
Oh god, please don't, not unless you want to torture yourself. He makes the most boring long winded videos on Planet Earth.
Thanks, this looks interesting, but I can't seem to figure out how to see or even buy the entire article.
It's hard work for a router with so much end grain cutting. I use a Festool of 1400 with the 1/2 white side bits with my mp and have cut 60 mortises straight. I think you need a bigger router.
I'm sorry Larry but this is coming off to me as a bit pretentious, overly dramatic and highly subjective. Did you make your own table saw, bandsaw, jointer, planer, drill press... screw...
Hi William,
I went kicking and screaming when I bought my Festool CT 26, but I never looked back. In many ways the Festool vac has become the most used tool in my shop. There are other factors to...
Ah Danny my humor is a bit weird. I have this table and on the right and I love it. This topic, like so many others, seems to inspire absurd debates on the minuscule advantages or disadvantages of...
You have to go on the left, you just have to. Otherwise you will create a feed direction imbalance in the universe which will increase the level of entropy contributing to space time instability. Do...
I made a list so my wife could sell it all for a fair price. However, she hasn't seen this list yet and if she did, I just might end up dead right then and there! :D
Brilliant! Are you sure you are not a professional stand up comedian or writer for David Letterman? I truly laughed out loud. You said it all!
Oh man, that hurts... deep pain...
Mark, Paul, James! Sadly my one skill, being a sarcastic smart aleck, exceeds my woodworking skills, but I'm glad it is appreciated.:D Of course, we have ALL seen the endless debates where the...
I don't think this post is fair to the OP, Jim Barret, on a number of counts. The handles are only one small design issue of an otherwise excellent product - not enough to dismiss the entire purchase...
Interesting point Marc. For older chisels and planes I might agree, but ionization does impact the alignment of high carbon steel's crystalline structure resulting in improved edge retention and...
