I just installed the Harbor Freight 25' in my shop this weekend. Seems pretty solid and the ratchet mechanism seems to work pretty good.
Hi - Sorry it's been a couple of day.
David and Charles - That's a pretty good idea. The concave is about .0045. I think I'll try that if my cuts come out too bad.
Thank you.
Hi David,
I did verify it is the fixed table that is concave by .0045 on the left side. The right side is good. With it being concave on the left side the extension is sticking above the concave...
Thank you everyone for your response! I really appreciate it! That's why I love this group!
I guess I'll go ahead and put the rest of my saw together since the consensus is that it is within specs...
Man is it ever!
.01? Wow? I just hope I'm not chasing down a rabbit hole.
I did and I saw that one. I get it with the extensions bolted on but I'm talking about just the table without the extensions.
You are so right. I always buy it online then pick up there. That way I know if they have it or not.
I live in Nixa about 10 minutes from the Springfield Grizzly. I was just there last Saturday picking up my 1023RL. I go there there every other month or so. I didn't really see anything different...
Hi Everyone,
I know this has been discussed ad nauseum but I got a new 1023RL. I put the left extension on and I noticed the middle of the extension was high. I've done the tape shim thing so many...
Thank you for the advice Andrew!
Thank you Michael!
I watched a few Doucette and Wolfe videos last night and it looks like he was planing before and after assembly. My plan is not to do any sanding, all hand plane smoothing,...
Thank you Bill!
Thank you you all for replying! That helps me a lot!

Hi Everyone,
I'm getting ready to do my first real build on a chest of drawers. I realize I can't take my wood directly from the thickness planer to finish so my question is should I fit the...
There's an old business book called "It's Not The Big Who Eat The Small, It's The Fast Who Eat The Slow". Customer Service is all about fast and accurate. Amazon, love them or hate them, has this...
I've got the same jointer and mine doesn't do that. It's got to be a belt. My table saw had that screech until I replaced the belt.
BTW - I love this jointer.
I haven't tried retapping yet. Maybe as a last resort I will try that. I did blow out al of the holes with air.
What saw did you order? I ordered a 1023RL at the end of November and expect it around 2/26.
That makes sense about burrs not letting the inserts seat properly. The history on this particular head leads me to think that now. When I first got this head the screw hole for the gear was not...
Here is the picture I sent to Byrd:

Hi All,
How smooth should I expect this head to cut? I planed some red oak through it but it left some lines like a nicked blade. I couldn't really see any nicks so I pulled all 40 blades off and...
Thanks for that. You can probably check yourself to see if you can use a 20 amp breaker. Just look in the box and see what gauge of line you have. 12 gauge would be sufficient for 20 amp. 14 gauge is...
Where do you get the breaker?
I agree and really I would have been fine about the key if they had said before I shipped them the cutter head that I needed to tap the key into the hole. The videos did show it should be loose. What...
