Mike - I do have some 13" cherry panels glued that need to get ran thru but haven't had time to get back to that project. In all fairness I've probably only ran about 50 bf of 6" wide red oak thru...

Greg, I'm no expert on electric motors but my guess is the windings in the Baldor are heavier than the Grizzly motor. The HP rating means less than the actual usable amps. My understand anyway. ...
I thought is approiate to comment on my experience with my 1st purchase from Grizzly of a G0453PX 15" planer, considering how much poor service alot of companies seem to provide these days.
I...
Wow David thats a heck of a machine for $3750. Maybe I'll keep my eyes open for a PM27 or similar. I don't really think I'd be able to go much bigger in my shop though. I assume you'd stay away...
Thanks for the replies. Paul, I'm not sure what the strange punctuation is about. I don't remember it being part of the original post.
I did find out that the Delta is a 3hp @15amps. I believe...
Hi all,
I've been looking at used shapers to add to my shop. This would be for personal use and I would adding a power feeder. Alot of the use would be for T&G paneling, casing and base molding...
Also, keep it out of the sun if possible.
Thanks for the feed back guys. Sounds like the spiral cutterhead is the ticket.
I would recommend a gun and at that you'll probably still want to figure alittle loss in the process.
I've been doing alot of reading on the site about the G0453Z planer compared to it's counter part the G0453p with straight knives. I know, it's been beat to death, but I haven’t really seen this...
Very nice Eric. Made a big change to that room. Did you remove the can lights because they were in the way?
Use to be running a piece of rough sawn thru the planer and getting to really see the grain pattern for the 1st time, now it's opening up a new log on the bandmill to see whats inside.
Hi James,
My father in law has run a sharpening business for over 30 years. He, or myself, using his equipment, have sharpened my planner and jointer knives for as long. Pictures can be alittle...
Hi Erik,
Having not used the Rockler jig I can't speak for it but I do own the 24" Akeda and can vouch for that. A very well made jig and very versatile. The dust collection works well enough,...
Reid - You've recieve alot of good suggestions so far but I'd like to just make a quick suggestion. You may well have something out of adjustment with the tool but before spending another couple...
Looks like the Alder that I brought back from Oregon 15 years or so ago.
One more vote for the Stabila. I have both the 48" & 24" and both are very accurate.
I would sell it as is letting the buyer know what needs to be done and give them a break on price to compensate.
Good point Pete. Will take thaqt into consideration.
Thanks Keith, thats the kind of info I'm looking for. I do agree with all who have voiced opinions of probable heat loss but that was considered before I posted the question. I think your idea Keith...
Thanks for the replys. Guess I have pretty much the same idea as you Matt. I'd like to get away from hauling bags outta the shop.
Does anyone have any feed back on the Bridgewood DC's?
OK guys, I'm thinking of putting a DC just outside of my shop. It would be located in a seperate small building using a 6' pipe as my main lead into the shop. I'd like to run the DC without any...
Woodweb has a directory listing of members mills. See if there are any listed in your area. Seems alot of mills all over are going down due to low prices and lack of demand. ...
Very nice work Mark. I hope it stands the test of time. Looking forward to warm weather and getting back on the road myself. 02RKC
Very good price @2.50. Buy it and enjoy!
