That is truly spectacular! I love the cornice return on the drawer. You are one talented dude (not to mention a great dad)!

Cody,
I am truly impressed - this is a monster. Well done.
That's gorgeous! Beautiful grain in the top, and nicely executed. Did you use birch for the drawer sides?
Nice work! now fill'er up!
Bryce, this is spectacular! I love it.
Love em Shawn - especially the second one. The handle is particularly fun.
Figured cherry is hard to get in most places. What about veneer though? Does beautifully for panels, cheaper and great book matches.
Huh? Sorry - what guy?
Thanks to all. Darren, the "pegs" are dowels with holes drilled off centre. By rotating them I can set the drawer depth exactly.
Thanks for your interest.
Hans
Thanks Lee - the only real challenge was to fit the joints so I got a tight fit. A few incremental fine adjustments and a lot of patience, and it was there.
Yes the panels are curved - created by laminating 1/8 baltic birch with a curved mold, then vacuum veneering.
Thanks all for the kind comments.
I absolutely love everything about the mirror and the table - it takes a certain courage to just let your instincts take over and see where it goes. Beautifully executed, one of a kind.
Earlier this year, I made this blanket box/dresser

to go in our spare bedroom with this bed:

Very good advice! I'll do this tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
I'll report when I get to the bottom of this.
The blade that came with the saw (which I assumed would be next to useless) gives comparable results. I'm thinking it's got to be the alignment or runout. I will continue to troubleshoot.
Thanks!
I don't know if I can adjust the alignment - will have to check tomorrow, but I don't think so. Also I could have a runout issue. I'll need a dial indicator to check that.
I've had the same issue with the blade that came with the saw, but I had expected the Starrat to make a big improvement.
I have an 80-tooth 12" Chopmaster blade on my Dewalt compound sliding mitre saw and am disappointed with the poor cuts.

The first cut was made by lowering in the extended position, then...
Like everyone else has already said, this is a beautiful, useful and really well made piece. The only small quibble I'd have is that my eye tells me make the drawers out of butternut instead of...
Great piece Craig! I am sitting on the fence on live edge - I have yet to take that plunge, but pieces like yours nudge me ever closer to that line!

Very nicely done! I love the burl veneer. In one of the pictures it looks a bit like the surface of the veneer has some texture to it. Is this just an artifact of the light? Did you make the veneer...
I really like this piece. Aside from the fact it's your first ever, it's just a very well designed and executed project. I like how the slab seem to have just the right heft to give it a rustic...
That is awesome! I love the colour in the poplar, and you've done a great job on the build. Well done.
Hans
That is stunning! Does the client have chairs or is there a further business opportunity?
Hans
You Re too kind! The "prom queen's thigh" analogy is a keeper! It could replace "flatter than piss on a plate" that was the reference point for very smooth water back in my rowing days.
