David, You sure do some nice fast flatwork.
Really consider what Sean said about reaching over a spinning lathe.

Paul,
Thanks for the invitiation. I will send you an email this evening to get your phone number. I would like to visit you and talk a little turning and maybe you could show me how to weld a...
John,
That sounds like it could be something I should be doing at home :-)
Clem
Hi Paul.
Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay. I have been dealing with a kidney stone until Saturday when I passed it.
Thanks for the invite to your farm and I could very well take you...
I will be cooling my heels while my wife is at a woman's conference on Nov 14 & 15. We will have been on a presidential library excursion to MO and KS, and will be stopping in Springfield before we...
I made one of these using Allen's instructions and it works great. The instructions are very clear and I was able to use a lot of my old denim jeans.
Thanks, Allen.

Make sure that you have a threaded drawbar in the end of the adaptor going through the headstock. (Some adaptors might not be threaded on the end.) Tighten it on the outboard side and the MT2 won't...
Tom,
Jeff Jilg, a friend of mine, did a great write-up about this sharpener on the AAW web site a few years ago. I used to be an AAW member but dropped it. However you can still get on to their...
Depends on wether you are buying or selling :-)
Just kidding. Perhaps 50% to 60% would b an excellent price.

This is how Darrell Feltmate does it:

I am in the process of making a knockoff of the Beall system and have a Beall Morse headstock adapter.
The bolts I bought were 3/8-16 and they fit the Beall adapter.

Pete, You are one honest (and open) guy. I wish my shop was as neat as yours :-)
I picked up some banding metal strapping yesterday and when it rains later this week will make one mentioned above....
Thanks for posting Allen, this looks like TTIT has KISS right on for sanding :-)

Richard,
You should stop now before the bug bites you even worse.
Knowing that you won't, I didn't either, here are a few suggestions.
Definitely file the tool rest and get it as smooth as...
Nancy,
You may be a little better looking than those other guys :-)
Clem
Irv,
I just came across your post. Have you checked with Tinsley's sawmill. I looked it up in the phone book but there is no listing for a sawmill by that name. I have bought oak from him a while...
Russ has a very inexpensive and accurate method to test the moisture content.
He says to hold the piece of wood to your cheek. If it feels cold it is still wet. If it doesn't feel cool it is dry...
Curtis,
Herm DeVries has a good tutorial on using the Termite.
Use this link:

Got to Tools and Tips on the left of the page.
Pete,
Are those two little holes in the end of the tool?
Does the air go down one hole and push the wood dust out the other one?
Clem
I "helped" my 8 year old grandson make a handle for a 6 in 1 screwdriver. I used a plastic handled 6 in 1 screwdriver that I removed the plastic handle from. I drilled the wood for the insert.
I...
I hope you get some sleep tonight, Scott.
The pictures make it real.
Clem
Jeff,
Another yellow wood is Osage Orange. You are probably already aware of that.
I love to turn OO and I've turned it wet and dry. Sharp tools work best on dry.
The yellow is fairly bright...
Bob,
I just checked Horst's posting in the link you gave and the pictures are there.
Great looking "turnings" and the name is making me hungry.
Clem
Jeff,
Since you have your new lathe, does all wood look YELLOW?
Clem
Robert,
Looking at your turned pieces you can't even tell what lathe thay were turned on! :-)
Keep up the good work. Be careful with the dust from treated wood, it could be harmful to your...
