Well there ya go! maybe I don't stand corrected. He didn't find that it stalled at all. I still think they're grinding at too high a speed. The videos I was watching mention 900rpm, even the 400...

I wouldn't say that. Especially when you consider slow speed grinding was what was done 150 years ago. Even if I no longer can endorse the grinder itself, I can without reservation endorse slow...
Well I might have to retract my endorsement on it then. Saw couple vids but didn't notice any bogging down. The concept is good but maybe the motor is not up to it.
I'm on my third incarnation of this type of grinder, built the first one about 30 years ago and can attest it's by far the best grinding system out there for grinding tools. It's a truly slow speed...
Any out there for high blood pressure?
Lets wager. In 200 years we'll see who's right LOL. Edit: Which when I think about it, if you're in your 20's, you could quite possibly live that long.
Though, I read somewhere he's been at...
One thing is for certain. If BCT doesn't continue after the founder hangs it up, those tools will be worth a fortune. In 200 years they will only be found in the most exclusive collections or...
Maybe, but so what. Years ago I got to make a carved cup that would never ever be used for anything, it would only ever sit in a glass cabinet and the customer paid hundreds for it... They wanted...
My metric for success is the accounting one - the business is an on going concern
They've been around a long time and plan to continue for a long time so they are a success. Maybe they don't make...
Monday I am doing my final prac to become a teacher. My official areas are biology and sciences but I've been able to convince the school to let me teach 3 out of the 4 subject areas in manual arts....
Wow. Tough crowd tonight. I applaud the makers and their effort. They have carved out a niche market and for all intensive purposes are succeeding. It shows an exceptional level of skill in...
I doubt it is either as the spam goes to an email address I don't use here.
Had a few minutes to procrastinate on assignments and followed a rabbit trail for larry... The guy is linked to a site...
I love the broad sweeping statistical lingo. If what you are say were true there would be millions walking around without digits.
It's something I've always noticed since I started 35 years ago. The most skilled woodworkers always had the most unremarkable shops.
For myself I guess I might be a bit old fashioned in that I look for longevity in a tool. I have a bandsaw that's 45 years old, a lathe that's 15 years old and they work like new, and they'll long...
Got anyone with a tablesaw you don't particularly like? Take the piece(s) of MDF full of diamond over to there house/shop and ask them to cut it down for you... Good way to use the scraps up and...
Having read the responses... My thought are that the look and feel you get with both is quite different and therefore you're desired end result is what will drive you're methods. A modern...
I've had a set of stanley handyman chisels since the mid 80s and they're quite good. I bought them so I didn't damage my good ones, Ashley Isles, but have found they have just as good steel. ...
it sounds more like you should use your time machine backup and restore to a point before the problems. that is if you use time machine.
And with a little wax, you'd think it was pulling itself over the wood. You'd almost feel like you have to hold it back
Maybe I take particular interest in this DB because he's the only spam I receive. Somehow this has lifted my email from somewhere and I'm taking it personally. What ever the case I'm going to...
Not really. If you look at bergs you can see that they're not that robust by comparison to a firmer or similar chisel. The hoop is to make the handles more resistant to blows from a mallet but...
It's probably not his real name but he's a scumbag within our ranks (not sawmill creek but a woodworker none the less I suspect). What I'm really interested in, and the real point of this thread, is...
I can confirm he reads mail from that inbox
I have gmail accounts but I always log them out or untick the box that says stay logged in. I'll try the clear history and see what that does. Funny though that they would manipulate news based...
