it's also about the throughput. how many products you can produce per hour. Cutting not too much of a difference so I hear but engraving nothing comes close to the Trotec .period.
welcome to the...
Nice Darren. everything in it's place and a place for everything.:)
if you are not engraving , flip it over. and cut from the back other wise it should clean up easy with a damp cloth not wet

read the TOS... if it looks suspicious then it probably id. If they submit a PDF of a 3d item for a quote but can not get you the actual 3D file that throws up a red flag.
yikes! Ed hope you are not breathing the rest of the dust that is not captured by your fans.
I am not sure but I believe that the student can not export a working prt file so that is probably why the PDF with the watermark is used. I read somewhere that a student version prt file can not be...
So going back a few posts. I would think that if a student wanted a proof of concept or prototype (a 1 off) that it might be permissible but very expensive. Wanting 3000 of them is a different...
Art ...I disagree
use a 4" lens. I have done several direct laser engraving on handles. it is usually best if they are finished first so they can be cleaned up easier and then finished again after engraving is done....
here we go again, people trying to justify their attempt to skirt the rules read your TOS if you can't do business using legit software then don't do it.
right on Dave S.
Just got off the phone with Solid works Corporate fraud (I Think) division in Boston. and they say that if you get a drawing or any other file produced from a Solid Works student edition file, that...
exactly 4:00 minutes
I thought that the off gas produced from lsasering pvc was cyanide i would not do any PVC job unless i could do it on my CNC router. Just not worth the risk no matter how much it would pay and I...
11 minutes WOOOOOOOOW IS THAT SLOOOOOOOOOOW! not sure what the time for me is but definitely less than 5 minutes using 3 mm Genuine Baltic Birch on a 60 watt Trotec laser using a 1 1 /2" lens
I...
put blast gates on your 4" lines so you can regulate the CFM intake . That's how I do it
wow nice machine. I use a 4" lens because of the longer depth of field but i only have a 60 watt. 2.5 might be an overall lens but not the best for a specific situation. I'd get both and run tests.
best thing is to NEVER use a DXF file ALWAYS USE a DWG so much cleaner and easier to import.
don't want to Ed. your a great customer
it depends on what part of the lumber your plank is taken from outer is easy to cut but if it is quarter sawn from the center grain is tighter and harder. take a picture of the plank and post it...
I have halons for both CNC and the laser Sorry for your loss Ed
