John the vfd is out on my 1642 where did you find a cheaper replacement jet almost $700.
Did it come ready to use when you purchased it ?

Kyle the last bowl is walnut and maple was not wanting to darken the maple if I didn’t have to.
Edward it is a decorative bowl
I’am looking for a finish that will protect the wood but not add much shine.
wood looks good with nothing on it but needs something to keep it looking that way.
any suggestions.

John I used ca glue on the pencils.
Turned this for the segmented turners symposium this weekend.
will be given to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
walnut and colored pencils with a little wenge.394764
I’ve had that same issue myself ended up ruining the large cone when it came loose.
not sure causes it either

I tried this once the problem I had was the color coming out when turning the sides. Wasn't a problem turning the top and bottom just the sides. Tried using ca to solid it up but was still a problem....
Just finished this bowl from a new jig that i finished.
made from wenge,rosewood and maple finished with wood turners finish.
measures 9" x 3 1/2 tall 2 1/2" at the 334341
I have the Same problem with my jet 1642. Runs fine except under heavy cutting. When I called jet support he told me the inverter was bad. Haven't tried to repair it yet price for a new one was well...
