John,
So your manually cranking the laser head up and down?
How do you know where focus is?
Do you have a standard length measure stick to set distance?
Thanks
John
Double post deleted.
I rolled the Windows version back in December of 2017 when the error first occurred.
So I have had to roll it back at least 3 times since then because Microsoft insists on updating in the middle...
Here is a screen shot of my current working version 2.12.0.

I'm on my fourth email to BJJC in an effort to get a working version of EzCad2 for the latest Windows 10 build.
The first version they sent ran without MFC Fail error but was missing the Focus...
I received a response from tech support in about a days time. I have yet to perform a Windows update, but here are the steps I used to get it working;

Finally got a chance to email bjjcz.com support with all my info and pic of controller board. Lets see how long it takes to get resolved.

I have always been a firm believer in small incremental updates. EZCAD2 2.12.0 did not like the latest 12/26/2017 Windows 10 update and I had to roll back to 12/25/2017. In short a message came back...
Yep, sure enough "auto reset mark was not checked". You saved me 3 steps to the computer and back, times 648 stainless wine cups for a total of 3888 steps. :)
I can set the "Total num" field to the number of passes I want, however "Part" has to be "R" reset to ZERO or it will start single passes again. In short, I can't stand at the laser and feed parts...
Thanks Kev.
Why don't the programmers use consistent terminology? I would of thought Loop Count would of been more appropriate.
Is there a setting in EZCAD 2 to perform multiple passes, aka Loop Count on a single part while in rotary mode?
The "brown" residue is a result of the engraving. If you want it clean and free of the residue, you'll need to clean it.

In answer to your question, I was sleeping.
But when I do have to stay up late to meet a deadline, its a great feeling to have multiple machines running.

I wouldn't mind posting the items I laser, but it would be double work for me to strip out my domain name and add a personal copyright watermark instead.
The laser forum split only bothered me because I had grown accustomed to the combined forum. I have not been posting or visiting the forum for the past 45 days.
The only thing I can attribute my...
I've read and experience personally some coatings that do not laser well or require extensive cleanup.

I did a couple searches regarding "minimum charge" and at least for the aforementioned phrase the last post was back in the summer of 2016.

So far I've been lucky in that no one has asked me to prove depth compliance.
Generally I engrave max by a very unscientific method of viewing through a magnification loop and go with it.

Everything was done through the iphone while filtered with the protective glasses.
There's no way I could hold everything together and tap in 2 places to focus and take a picture at the same time.
So I mounted my iphone to a iphone clamp and the clamp to a bi-pod. Then I secured...
