A much underrated source of clipart

It's free, it's clean, it's vector; there's no background to worry about and you can switch fill and outline easily to whatever you want it's...

    ...dingbat fonts!

Easily viewed and selected in the 'insert character' docker in corel, dingbats can be incredibly useful. And there's some quite intricate ones out there.

    To get you started:
    http://www.dingbatdepot.com/
    http://simplythebest.net/fonts/dingbats.html

Once you get over the temptation to load so many that your computer won't start, you'll find that they are incredibly useful. And, of course, they're naturally in themed sets, so finding stuff isn't too difficult either.

EDIT: And more. Stencil section too...

    There goes the afternoon:
    http://www.dingbats-uk.org.uk/download/index.html

The computer is full and ....I.....can't.....stop...

    EDIT AGAIN:
I've seen equivalents of pretty well all the Dover clipart collections (the useful-to-engravers-ones). Result. Off to install them. If I don't come back, the computer has exploded....

Reporting back. Here's 100 or so freeware goodies- the results of my explorations. There's a lot that are specifically good for lasering (there's a hairline font pack in there too); some general-application ones; a couple for stuff I'm doing at the moment; and a few that I know damn well I'm never going to use, but had to have anyway. They're all in the original zips, so you can make your own choice on the terms and conditions, if any.

    Thanks Darren - very useful.

I downloaded the first one, then I decided that I needed to tidy up my fonts and found that FontAgent was playing up (been playing a bit of technological roulette recently - you tweak your computer 'till .....) Reinstalled FontAgent and spent the next hour or so playing with fonts ..... it is amazing how one thing leads to another!

Going to download the second today - who knows where that will take me!
