Wax over Minwax Antique Oil?

Hi all,

I have a Shaker style pedestal table I made out of walnut that I plan to finish with Minwax Antique Oil. I have experimented on a scrap piece and it looks pretty good.

I was thinking about trying a coat of paste finishing wax over it for a little more protection.

Any danger here?

Wax provides little or no protection and requires frequent reapplication to maintain its appearance. Antique Oil is intended to be a stand-alone oil/varnish mixture. If you want a little more protection, wipe on a coat or two of a wipe-on varnish finish.
