    Wood Suggestions Needed

I'm going to make jewelry boxes for my grandaughters. Three of them. The design I have in mind is a classic lidded box. I'm looking for some ideas for what wood to use. I know that cherry and walnut will work well. I've used a lot of both over the years. But I'd like to try something else and wonder what ideas you have or have used. Thanks for your help.

Take a look at lacewood and figured bubinga. Both make stunning boxes.

Since the project uses a relatively small amount of wood, use some exotics like bloodwood, ironwood, canary wood, etc,

Thanks everyone. Great ideas. While at the lumber supplier over the weekend to buy the wood I need, I saw some amazing padauk and bought it. Doing research right now regarding finish and glue for padauk since I've never used it before this. Once again, thanks to everyone for your great advice.
