Great job and a good example of the type of "push block" that folks should endeavor to use rather than the longer, thinner "push sticks" that can cause unfortunate accidents if they slip. This style provides more hold-down in a format that is not inclined to move around. Again, great job!

What are we if we can't take pride in our work?

With a little carving it would also make a cool shop sign.

I've been seriously thinking of taking this old snakewood I have and doing something with it, why not a pushblock

That's truely incredible. You certainly must have too much time on your hands but at least it is put to good use. It actually looks very functional and seems like an extremely safe method for pushing stock through the saw. I can barely find the time to put an hour or two into my work shop, especially once I factor in my SMC time. I'm sure these would sell very well btw.

    Dave,
This is a great job. I have a CNC router so I'm going to make several of these for my shop (not out of walnut though :-( ... ). I love the safety aspect. My jointer is going to be the first place that I use one.

I love it! I love well crafted beautiful tools, they MAKE me want to use them... That is an exceptionally important piece of equipment, it's important that it BEGS to be used! Well done David!!!!

Not only is that a complete waste of time and wood, it's also perfectly functional. That is the epitome of fine work, IMHO.
