So much to learn, so little time.....
Gary,
That would be great.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

Gary, beautiful work as usual!
I go into lust mode every time I see your Neander Haven.
Gary,
Terrific looking cabinets! I need to do this as well, but if I don't complete a few other projects first, I will be needing a doghouse...and I don't have a dog.
Thanks for posting, and I too am looking forward to a posting of the shop when it is done.

Gary, I should have checked in over here!! From your emails, I have gotten a good feel for the progression, but I was not aware you have a build thread going with this project! Really a bummer on the knee - maybe this is where Geri becomes your apprentice?!?!? You could be shop foreman, and handle your duties from an easy chair. She may even be able to get you a cold beer every now and then. Let me know how that works out for you!!
In all seriousness, this might be a time to re-direct the energies and fire back up the lathe - we miss you in the Turner's Forum!! One can get quite a bit of light weight turning done from a shop stool.
Hang in there, and I hope the knee situation improves, at least in the short run until you can get a repair done.
Lovely work and a superb shop - from what we can see - I look forward to the tour.
Oh to have that much space, I'm limited to 22ft by 13ft. Crazy really, but the internal walls in my barn are solid stone and would take a bit of moving ! Anyway, the horses need the rest of the space.

Thanks for the comments guys..
I've got far enough into this that I'm starting to anticipate putting these things on the walls..
Gary, how about a shop tour after you get them up? I know your dovetail corner very well but would love to see the rest!
May be a month or so before my shop is back in order but will do Bruce...
Not a ton of shop time lately.
But enough to use up the last of my cherry and maple to get this far.
All but one of the carcasses with the faces on and most with the BLO bath.
Total of 15.

Keen eyes will notice the grain running the wrong way on the middle cabinet.
Just trying to keep the waste to a minimum...
This will be a TV cabinet so I don't think it will be that noticeable.
After work we made a quick trip to the lumber guy and we are all stocked up again.
We will give this new stuff a couple of days to settle down and we will be back at it..
.
i was all set to join in with everyone else's compliments (cherry ply for a shop? not exactly going low end, are we.), but that cabinet with the grain running the wrong way. man, that just ruins the whole project. i don't see how you can let any of those cabinets into your shop. i'll take them off your hands as a favor to a fellow creeker, ok?
more seriously, that's really nice work. any chance for a few close ups of the blade storage drawer? looks like a great way to store blades.
Awesome work, Gary... Impressive!!
One can never have too many planes and chisels... or so I'm learning!!
I've been having problems with my knee the past while so progress in the shop has been a little low...
But that being said I have finally got the second last cabinet of sliding shelves done.
This one is for my routers.
I lucked out to get the PC box into the cabinet. Ended up having a 1/2" to spare on the depth.

Only one more sliding shelve to do and these will be behind me.
Last cabinet will be the home for my miter gauge.
Hope everyone is getting a little shop time.
.
One more little victory on this project. No more sliding shelves to build...
The last one which will house my miter gauge was finished this morning.

The plan is slowly coming together..
Now it will be door production time. Maybe even in the next week or so we will start to get some of these things on the wall....

Gary, really beautiful work. It looks like you may be using mortice and tenon joinery on your face frames. Does this mean you are assembling them separately and gluing and/or pinning them to the carcases?
