I think this is a Wheeler, Madden & Clemson number 24 saw.

The medallion has: Warrented Pat. Dec 21, 1869 Superior.

The blade etching is faint but I can just make out a globe in the center and a date 1853 in the banner on the right side.

I found an old advertisement from Smith, Tibbetts & Co. Hardware which shows this same saw with the globe etching and the same handle but it only says it is a "Stanard No. 24".
This blade is 26" and 7 ppi. It is a nice straight saw with only minor surface rust. I am wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the saw and about how old it is?
