    Smile Wow!, What service

I sent two 10" blades to Forrest for sharpening on May 16. One is a Tenryu Gold Medal, and the other is an Amana rip blade.
They were delivered to my door yesterday. The blades were sent without contacting them before sending. No prior communication took place.

I have used their service before and was equally impressed then as well.

For the record, there is a Woodworker II on my saw currently. It has been sharpened by them twice.

I just figured they deserve a shout out for their service.

Always good to hear about folks running their business well and treating their customers right ;-) I know I will pay a little more to buy an item from a certain retailer based on their performance. Lowest price isn't everything; business performance and character draws my money faster than bottom-dollar pricing.

I recently had them sharpen two Woodworker IIs and one Chopmaster. It almost seemed like the newly sharpened WWII was better than when new.

If you don't mind sharing, what did they charge you for the sharpening?

The charge was $41 for the two blades and $15 shipping. You can go on line to their website and download a form with all of the information on it. I can't drive round trip to Houston for $15.

Not to mention they send you $5.00 coupons per blade to discount the sharpening charges when you use them.

Didn't read correctly at first that you sent the blades to Forrest...my bad. I have used Cooks in New Braunfels, and they did a great job. They have a coupon on their website, http://www.cookssharpening.com/id10.html, for one free sharpening-just pay shipping. I sent them a Systimatic 60 tooth ATB laminate blade, and it came back perfect! They get all my sharpening business now, what little I need to do. Jim.

It's good to know about Cooks. You never know when a situation might arise that an alternative is needed.

I sent my blades to Forrest because thet made the blade I was having sharpened. The Tenryu I sent them cits like a WOODWORKER ii now.
