Here we go some very hard n tough eucalyptus from the Blue Mountains near Sydney. What exact species I wouldn't have a clue looks a bit like Blue Gum. 9x5 Oiled and buffed. The second image is a detail of the blending of the spiral into the rim area

Neil, I just turned a bowl from very hard red gum (imported from your neck of the woods). Incredible how long it took just to turn the bowl. I am deeply impress by the additional carving. Must have taken a really long time!
