Leopardwood - Has anyone used it?

Was buying some birdseye and curly maple at my wood supplier today and noticed them cutting some unusual looking wood. It is Leopardwood - an exotic species which has a redish color seems quite dense and has an interesting figure. It's not cheap at $14/bd.ft. I am wondering if it machines well and has any peculiar characteristics.

I have a small pile of it on a rack in the shop, I was picking up wood for a job and bumped into it at around $8/bf, too pretty to pass up. It for "someday", which hasn't happened yet. Every time I pick it up I decide its too hard and heavy to deal with, so on the rack it lives.

I have done quite a few bottle stoppers out of leopardwood and it turns nicely if a little hard. Also made some pieces for cutting boards and it makes a nice detail.
