Chased Box - Blackwood and Bloodwood

Box with chased threads. Lid is Burmese Blackwood with a Paua shell inlay. Base is Bloodwood. Around 3" (8 cm) tall. Currently no finish, have not decided what type of finish to use. This is my second thread chased box, I like this one a bit better.

Wow! Just Wow! The form is absolutely perfect. I am so jealous of your technique. I have used a thinned de-waxed shellac very successfully to really bring out the color of bloodwood. But whatever finish you choose, this is one of my favorites anywhere on the forum - and there have been some real stunners. So simple, but the proportions are just so . . . did I say wow?!! Now if you need someone to test drive it by handling it in person, let me know

No, the sky is not falling - just chunks of it are.

    Thanks!

This time around I got both the overall form better and the joint better. I still have some work to do on the joint to see how thin I can get it. Once I get a better feel for that, that frees up options for overall form.
