Security Scam !!!!

After following an email link to an FWW article I got a pop up box purportedly from Microsoft Security Essentials that listed three assorted malware and or virus related threats currently on my computer. It also kindly provided a direct link to source to clean my computer. This of course turns out to be a download containing a trojan of some sort. ( as per Google search.)
It looked real enough I suppose. The tip off was that I don't use MSE.
Just an FYI.

I posted a link to a FWW video in the engraving forum and someone said that they got a malware warning. I wonder if FWW's site is compromised?

The likely explanation is the ads, one of the main reasons I block them all, no matter the site.
