Thread: Winged Black Cherry Crotch Candle Thingamajig

  1. Winged Black Cherry Crotch Candle Thingamajig

My first winged bowl of any sort... pretty fun (and a bit spooky)...

    Holds a 4" round candle...

Any comments - good or bad - welcome.

You guys are just killin' me over here! Yet another "first", which looks like something I may end up with after umpteen tries! That is really slick, Mark! I have a hunch we'll be seeing many more of those coming out of your shop!

That is a really cool piece, Mark. Loy, we gotta get you some help. I sure am glad you didn't find Waldo in my egg box. I swear there should be an entire forum dedicated to Loy's Photo Manipulations or something like that. Very funny!

But Mark, what were you really hiding with that candle? Nice piece!

  11. It's just a hole in there - just a plain hole... also a "kinda-rough-not-sanded-so-hot" hole... I just got lazy since it was gonna have a candle in it. Shame on me...

Tisk tisk Mark. You know the rule, finish it even though it won't be seen. Other than the candle it is a great piece

Very nice work there Mark. It's purdy, but......it would have been more pleasing to my eye if the bowl were larger to be in symmetry with the crotch piece or the size of the overall crotch piece reduced to be in balance with the size of the bowl. Other than that? It's perfect in my opinion.

BTW, You orta see this Sweet Gum Bowl I'm turning!!!!! It's "Sweet".!!!!!! Oh, Did I mention that I need to borrow the cole jaws?
    Thanks & Happy Wood Chips,

Nice work Mark... it looks dangerous. It also looks like Saturn in that side view.

    Mark,

Very interesting piece and I really like the color of the wood and the way you finished the bottom.
