    Old Bandsaw Gloat

This is my "new" Delta 14" Bandsaw. Traded about $200 worth of stuff for it.

Don't know much about it yet (read: I'm utterly ignorant), serial #39-1972. More photos at http://rogerlos.org/junk/bs/

Any insight always appreciated. This old iron thing could be a big problem.

Louis Itturra, of Itturra Designs can tell ya' pretty much everything you ever wanted to know about that bandsaw. I can tell ya' that it's a nice one.

    Good Gloat.

Lots of old iron showing on around the creek. Very cool!

If you haven't allready pay a visit to Old Woodworking Machines,
Lots of good information available there.

    Sweet Band Saw.

That's close to the top of my "next toy" list.

    Have fun with it.

Roger, my granddad owned a saw like yours, and I inherited it years ago. I left it with a woodworker friend when I moved from New Mexico to California, and he still continues to get use out of it. You got a good saw, and it looks like it'll be a fun resto project.

I'm looking forward to tuning it up and maybe giving it a respray. Made in 1945 or thereabouts, apparently.
