Thumbs up American Made Gloat !!! Big SHAPER !!!

    Check it out guys
My Powermatic 27 Power Stack shaper came in at 5:00 am from Salem Origon. This is a 1993 american made unit that is cherry, never used !!!
Was in a guys heated shop for 13 years and all he ever did was turn it on,NO WOOD.....
5 HP motor and a extra large 30" x 40" cast iron table, 1 1/4" spindle, this baby weighs about 700 pnds.....
I give those boys at Yellow freight a thumbs up ,they got it to me all the way across the country, and not so much as a hair line scratch on it !
I think Ill go wax it top to bottom before I put it in its final footprint .
My wife liked it too , she looked at me and said Santa came again
today ! And I said You Betcha....

    Seth,
That is an incredible find. I see you also have the old PM 12" planer in the background? along with the ole made in the USA Delta combo sander?? ....and what Tod said, just wait until you start buying tooling!

Congrats Seth, this machine has led a charmed life, yet was deprived of it's function in life. I think it has found a home now where it will be used, and still be treated, maintained well. Best of luck.

I happen to know where its twin brother is setting. Only difference I have seen is the one I found has NEVER been plugged in. I know because the chord that came with it is still wrapped up without plug and hanging off the side. It was in the same place I found most of my shop equipment I currently have. When I picked up my stuff the owner told me he had traded the shaper for a bass boat two years prior and had already picked up the boat, played with it and then sold it again. The guy has never picked up the shaper yet and has left no indication as to when he will.

The guy I bought my stuff from told me had it not been 'spoken for' when I picked up my saws and stuff he would've "thrown it in".

Makes me a little whooossey to this day to even think about it. I picked up a PM66 single phase 5 HP table saw with sliding table, a MiniMax S45 bandsaw and a Hitachi F1000A combo planer/jointer. All for .......... $1700.00

If he would have thrown in the shaper too ....................... well, talk about a gloat.

That is a thing of beauty, but I think I'd be scared to go near it without a powerfeeder.

Nice score. I have a similar PM 26, and yours is clean as a whistle. Have fun, and watch your fingers.
