You did a great job on the EC! I really enjoy seeing all of the pieces, creations, and ideas of fellow woodworkers. You do nice work.

The neat thing about this woodworking stuff is that you always learn something new on each and every project. Sometimes it's simply what not to do on the next project, but it's still learning. I'm glad to see you conquered the finishing problem, and I'm sure you learned something from it.

Making a living is really getting in the way of my woodworking!!!

Boy can I relate to that. It does have a way of making you really thankful for the time you do have in the shop though!

I lightly sanded the light areas and applied just the dark walnut portion of the stain mix. I basically brushed it on and let it sit for a long time before barely wiping the excess. It really blended the lighter parts in much better. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with the result.

Cheryl says I can NEVER have a TV any bigger than this one, so....I guess the EC will work from now on.

That's just splendid, Terry! I never knew Oak could look that nice! We've got a LOT of Oak around here, but I can't seem to get anything that nice. Also, I don't know what mods you did to make it fit better, but you certainly kept the aspect of it very nice. Great job!

I've just decided that white oak is my favorite wood. I've been cutting up lots of pen blanks, and there is a significant quantity of red oak, but there is some white oak too. I can even smell the difference between red and white oak when I cut it now. Maybe I'll invent a guy's cologne: "White Oak - For Manly Men" (I've had a long day...)
