Hello woodworkers. I recently purchased a new GI 17" DRILL PRESS. I checked the reviews and most gave the unit 4-5 stars. Everyone commented on the changing speeds function being poorly engineered. Other than that, performamce, fit, finish was excellent. I agree. I went to change speeds this AM and could not seem to get the belt to the next lower level on the motor pulley (from the idle pulley). I followed the instructions very carefully and moved the entire motor assembly back enabling the release of the current belt level rather easily. Am I missing something. Are new belts in particular, difficut to stretch to different pully level, either up or down? Anyone out there have a GI 75-260 they can give me guidance on what I am missing?? Thx in advance.
