    wood species?

First post. Been lurking for a little while. I am sure someone can tell me right away what kind of wood I have. This wood is reclaimed from old wood doors in my house that I replaced. I cut the wood up for future use a couple of years back and have finally gotten a planer so I have started working with it. I want to build a headboard and footboard, but want to make sure it will hold up.

Thanks! Is it worth using in furniture? what is the best technique for finishing?

It will be relatively soft, but would make some beautiful projects. It will also finish beautifully in a number of ways depending on the look you are after and the intended use. Personally, I like the natural color that heart pine has, and prefer more of a satin or hand rubbed look, but that is just my preference.
