I'm in the middle of making a 24x40 coffee table. Borrowing heavily from FWW's plans for a Low Tea Table and an Arts and Crafts table with a gridwork stretcher.
Paul Cresti was nice enough to resaw, and plane a 2" thick piece of walnut for me which I used to make a bookmatched ends. I didn't realize that resawing can release a lot of tension in the wood; it started cupping immediately. I was able to joint it adequately on the tablesaw.
