Next new plane from Lee Valley?

To avoid hijacking another thread, I cut this from a thread about block planes.

    Thanks Derek,

Every time I see that picture I am reminded that planes almost always look primitive and strictly functional. Does anyone have any speculation on what will come out of Rob Lee's toy store next?

I'm imagining a low angle jack or a smooth using the same aesthetic and materials. Or perhaps something completely new?

I hear there's a small scraper plane, looks to be the size of a block plane, so no tote.

    Looks very very nice.

Rob has already mentioned the bullnose rabbet plane coming out. The one I looked at about 16 or so months ago was 3/8" wide. It will be a sweet little plane for detail work.

I had the scraper plane pre-production, and found it to be very useful for cleaning up small sections of tear out or just used in place of sandpaper for a final smooth over prior to applying a finish. Vewry comfortable - it becomes an extension of one's hand.

There is a third plane, which Rob had mentioned elsewhere, but I shall not spoil his fun ...

    Regards from Perth
