A couple new bowls

The first is the second Ive turned out of the blanks that I laminated out of Walnut and hard white Maple.

The second is my take off of a Bob Hamilton project from his website. True economy is the title of his article. It is lace wood and ebony. I am not at all crazy about the shape but since it is a nested bowl there was little I could do about that after the glue up. Next time I will know better.

I like the lacewood & ebony bowl a lot. A friend made a very high-end tansu style round table veneered in lacewood that was truly incredible.

My last box I learned from Bob as well. The "Bowl from a board" is one I wanted to try the double dovetails on. There has to be a way to change the shape but I haven't given it enough thought to figure that out yet.

Thanks Creekers. I'm trying. It's hard when there is not enough time in the day to do all the things one most do, before even getting in front of the lathe. But I am very determined to become a serious turner.
