I searched for a string on this. I found where the question was asked, but found no responses.

I have a replacement spring for my DW621 plunge router. I disassembled the router to the point of having the motor separate from the base. I removed all the screws from the housing, but could not figure how to separate the housing from the bottom of the plunge post to expose the bottom spring connection.
20 years ago, I would have just kept going, but experience made me back off and reassemble the router.

The plastic connection at the top of the spring is broken and I need to replace the spring. I have the parts required to do the job.

I have found some exploded views of the router on the internet, but no real details how to proceed. A google search has not turned up anything.

Can anyone help me on this? Maybe I should take it to a service center.
