    My first piece of furniture

This is my first real project. My wife wants some plant stands so this is my own design. I want to thank everyone who ansewred all my newbe q's. I used white oak and followed Jeff Jewitt's mission style finishing schedule. I was anxious that after all the hard work i would screw up the finish, but it turned out very nice. My wife loves the color and wants more.

Great job! You accomplished a good grain match on the top, and the finish is excellent. You and your wife should be well pleased, and I don't blame her for wanting more. I see bigger projects in your future!

Christopher, your plant stand turned out great. The color is just what I like. Keep the projects coming. Your wife wants more. It will probably require a new tool or two...

The first plant stand I made cost $750 for tools.

    Job well done Christopher...

If your wife wants more, you are obliged.
The more furniture that comes out of my shop and into the house the better equipped my shop has become.

I really like what you've done here. The design is good and it looks like you did a great job with it. Love the color myself!!

Excellent job on the execution.. you balanced the design components perfectly IMO and the finish color looks great. You will be hearing "I want more" for a long.. long time! Trust me...

    Wink

thank you for all the kind words. I will be out tomorrow buying more lumber to start on another one in the near future. If i calculate how much all my tools cost and divide it by the number of real items made, my guess is i'd be in trouble.
