Exceptionally nice!! First piece like this I have seen, and I really like the knotty pine look. Great finish on it, as well - what did you use?
Also, is that a matching stopper? Kind of hard to tell.

Great idea and very nice execution.
The only thing I think I would do is lose the middle part that projects above where the glass hang. For me it just does not flow. At most maybe make a flare where the bottle sets.

Very nice. I'm nuts about Norfolk Pine--especially after seeing some of Kelly Dunn's stuff while on the big island. You really did justice to some beautiful wood!!

Great idea! The knotty pine looks very nice. I'm not sure about how well the other wood goes with it. I agree on the comment about losing the top part above the holders but then am not sure if the bottle would stick out too much. I like it though.

That's what I like to hear so I can refine this idea.
At our club meetings I always ask Kelly Dunn to critique my work as he is very honest and that's what makes us better.
The finish is a spar urathane.
As with most first time pieces this one sort of evolved.
I was working on a wine bucket out of the black wattel but thought it was just too plain so it ended up like this.
I would like to do one completely out of Norfolk pine or use Koa and the pine for the dark and light contrast.

when i first used norfolk pine i was just, for lack of better words, sick...it was bland no color just yuck... then joel lawson over in hawaii put up some pics of norfolk that had been soaked in oil and wow...it came to life and after that i have been a real fan of the norfolk pine.

Very nice Peter. I always look for a way to integrate wood into the household. That is a sweet piece. I am not sure I will be able to have some wine with dinner untill I finish one of those..........lol Nice piece and I love the contrast betwwen the woods there.

I love this piece... It's very colorful. The 'eyes' in the norfolk pine make it for me... They have the most beautiful red color. What's the contrasting green?

It's actually blue, just bad photo by me
It's inlay of a blue stone ground up and mixed with epoxy.
I use it on my wine spikes and it comes out nice.
Funny thing my son asked me the same thing while I was working on it but he is color blind.
