    Bird House

I just finished this birdhouse ornament yesterday. The wood on the house part really turned out to be beautiful. It is from a Flowering Almond bush I cut down sometime ago. It had a lot of little burls on it because it was infested by something. I put a piece in one of the pictures to show what it looked like. I thought it was real pretty burl. I'm going to try to make a few bottle stoppers out of the few little pieces I have left.

Wow...very nice. I like it a lot, and am looking forward to trying my hand at bird houses myself.

Amazing what one can find inside a piece of wood!! Nice work, and who would have ever thought of turning a piece of Flowering Almond!

Love it, especially the roof form.

This is very nice, and to think Paul dug the wood for the top of this from my scrap can. I am just going to have to try some smaller turnings.

Thanks for the comments every. Ya, I forgot to mention I stole the scrape for the top out of Ray garbage can. I will be inspecting his garbage every time I visit. Thanks Ray.

Paul, you are more than welcome. I am actually putting them aside for you now. Thank you for the walnut, and burl piece you gave me. Still haven't quite decided how I am going to cut/turn this. I may post a photo on this forum, these folks are all very helpful, and a lot more about this than I do.
