Ambrosia Maple & Walnut
Very Nice!
How is it hinged?
How about a shot with it open!

Sweet work on this one Ed. That walnut in the top sure sets this one off.
Very nice job, love the woods !

Outstanding.
How do you hinge the lid?
Thank You.... the hing is pinned with 1/8" brass rod. Very simple, yet effective. Prior to beveling, I have a couple of plywood spacers inside the box to hold the lid in position, then clamp it down to keep it from shifting.... then over to the drill press and drill 1/8" hole 1-3/8" from the rear and 7/32" from the top.... overall height of the box is 3.5"... I keep the pins long, about an inch or so more than needed for test fitting, etc..... then once I'm satisfied, cut them down close to the box as I can get and sand flush. You want to keep them long until ready because once they are installed - they won't come out.
Hope that helps.
I'll have more pictures of it, hopefully this evening.... just gotta remember to take some.
