    Fir Kitchen

Heres a Fir Kitchen I have been working on. Its all tight grain ( 9 rings per inch minimum , most is much more) vertical grain. Finish is dyed then stained , then lacquered. All old school hinges ( what a PITA).Theres one pic of cabinets before.

Very nice job. Those old school hinges may be a a pain but they sure look good. The flush fit doors and hinges really make your cabinets look good.

    Nice!

Beautiful job, great color & style! I love the burnish treatment you gave it.

The kitchen looks nice, but I'd definitely recommend olive oil or Pam instead of WD-40.

    Craig,

Nice work. Fir is a nice wood to work except for the splinters. I love the patina it gets with age.

The photo shows cabinets, doors, trim and soji screens all from my shop. All in fir with padauk trim. The photo is about 25-30 years old.

Where does one acquire such a thing? And did you get yours on sale or did you have to pay full price?

Love the fir and the old hinges. Really nice job!
