    Mike Smith BLM

This is a Hollow Form that I finished up last month which is turned from one of the blanks that I got from Mike Smith last fall as one of the prizes in the fall contest here. Still have 3 more rough outs from his blanks to finish. It is around 10" in dia. and finished with lacquer. I turned it last winter, but just got a chance to finish it up last month. It has some yellow in the wood in a few places which I really like.

Very good looking HF. You certainly did the wood justice.

I hope all these displays of Mike's BLM doesn't thin out his selection too much. If I go out to his place soon and can't find what I'm looking for...I don't know what I'm going to do. Start back dipping into Mr. Keeton's Claro, I guess.

Thanks everyone, Mike really does have some beautiful wood for turners. I'm use to cutting out blanks for my self so I did find getting blanks already cut to be very nice even if it did kind of limit the design of the form somewhat. This is one of the earlier forms I started turning and still one of my favorite. The BLM moved very little during drying. I have a 20" chip and dip platter on of mikes blanks that I hope to finish up this winter that should prove to be very nice if I do my job, because mother nature did hers on the wood.
    Thanks again,
    Jack
