    Delta 350 planer

Some of you may remeber that a few weeks ago I was asking about extreme pressure gear oil. I went with the snythetic mobil about 9 dollars a quart. Now the real question. I needed the oil because I changed the pinion gear in the planer. It was stripped away. Put the new one in worked fine--for about 3 weeks, stripped that out yesterday. Apparently something is causing that--anyone have any clues?

    Thanks in advance

It is my experience, that most gears strip because they do not mesh deep enough and to mush pressure is put on the tips of the gear teeth. In your case I would look to see if there is some type of adjustment to set the pinion gear deeper into its mate.
