"My favorite piece is my last one, my best piece is my next one."
Wow! That's amazing.
Yep, I'd call that hollow! Very cool!
"If it is wood, I will turn it."

This is cool! I love it.

Very cool! I think I'd like to try that right there!
OK, tell us. Did you turn that from a 2" plank or from a 6" chunk and then cut off the sides? It is a dramatic piece. Well done in either case.
Oh yeah, a new meaning to "hollow form".

I think you might have just invented a new use for hollow forms. It looks like a propeller for a wind turbine. Plus you get two matching egg shaped bowls out of it. This is taking piercing to a whole new level....

That's a great take on the hollow form!

Where are John Keeton and Steve Schlumpf anyway?
Joe,
Your skill and imagination befuddles me. Terrific interpretation of a hollow form. Did you make a complete form and cut it or make it from a thick board? If it's a secret, I understand.

Now that's cool.
Where did I put that?
Yep, very cool. So tell us, how did it feel to actually cut away the sides of a perfectly good hollowform?
Pretty neat, Joe! There are some derivations that might be interesting if you are inclined to do this again. One could make the cuts produce a much more slim "vase form" on the wood - sort of with a slight shoulder and a curve toward the base. I realize it would produce concave sides, but it might be interesting to play with.
Joe, the vision to do something like that goes counter to what we try to achieve as artisans, yet you've succeeded in creating a thing of beauty with your creativity.
Lesson to be learned
Joe I would like to hear the sound that makes while it is spinning. Very cool indeed.
