    I have to say that you (Bob) really nailed that piece. The transition between the lid and the "finial" was the perfect combination of the possibilities shown in your first posting. It really pulled it together.

    Thank you all for the kind comments! This one was fun in that it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I also really enjoyed posting the in progress pics here and truly valued all the suggestions which I believe helped me make this piece the best it could be. I look forward to traveling this woodturning road with all of you for a long time to come.
