    Cool 3D software for Free

I have been waiting for this product for the PC for a few months now. It is 123dapp.com/make#download-make

You can take an STL file from any 3d modeling software and this allows you to make laserable sheets to assemble it.

My students have made some pretty cool items using this technique. Much more affordable for large scale prototypes than using our 3D printer.

Enjoy. I will post some pics later, but there are a lot of examples on the website.

Is it further along in development than the main 123D app? Reason I ask, I tried that one a month or so ago: they described it as "beta" (still do, although the version has bumped up), but my experience was more like "pre-alpha"...it's the kind of thing that gives "twitchy" a bad name.

"Design"? Possibly. "Intelligent"? Sure doesn't look like it from this angle.

I'm with Lee... gave up on that one shortly after trying it out. Annoying...

Here is a shield that I made from a 3D model to somewhat resemble captain america's original shield. The corel file should give you an idea of the cuts.
