QR Code Print Merge?

I have an RFQ for 2000 pieces to be laser engraved with all different numbers. So far so good, I can do that with print merge, but they also want QR codes (all different). Does anyone have experience doing such a job? What software is required?

I had a similar rfq come up a couple of months ago. You have to buy software to do it. There is free stuff but they only do one at a time. The stuff I looked at was just about $500. I forgot where but a search will turn it up.
