American Sweet Gum Bowl. Around 8" (20 cm) across but fairly shallow, almost a deep platter. Finished with Bush Oil and polyurethane.

Beautiful form and wood. I am trying gloss finishes right now and you did this really well. What is Bush Oil?
Veni Vidi Vendi Vente! I came, I saw, I bought a large coffee!
Brian, Bush oil is a New England Yankee oil finish often used on gunstocks, very similar to most Danish oil variety formulas.
#2 with Jamie. It's a harder finish then most Danish Oils hence the gun stocks.

Beautiful .Love the color ,form ,and that sloped edge . Hate to introduce something negative....but I think ,as nice as it is,that people will just continue to put the stuff under table tops.
Just about as pretty as heart sweet gum comes and a great finish. Don't let anyone throw their keys and change in it.
Beautiful bowl Eric! Pretty wood and a very nice finish!

The bowl is a beauty as is the wood. Nice finish.

Thanks everyone,
Sweet Gum is one of my favorite looking woods for bowls, it is pretty amazing looking with the right finish. It does move a lot so I have to be extra careful when rough turning it to leave adequate wall thickness.
