    Cherry Burl Platter

    I hastily sent my last batch of turnings off to the gallery, totally forgetting to take photos. Here is one from the current group I recently finished. It is Cherry Burl 9.5" x 1", finished with walnut oil and Beall buffed. Tough to see the profile, but I don't have a good photo setup yet.

    Nice, I like the way the rim ( looks like ) is recessed from the bowl. Interesting perspective.

    Thanks everyone. Paul, I'm glad you noticed that, in real life it gives the impression that there is a plate nested inside the larger platter.

    The wood is from a local tree in my area. I have yet to buy a wood blank, benefit of living out in the sticks I suppose.
