First vessel from the spalted ambrosia maple

Well here is the first vessel I have completed from the Spalted Ambrosia Maple I had. Buffed it out last night. Lots of curl and spalting going on in this one! Have a larger one I am just starting the finish on. Comments welcome.

    Hello Sparky,

That's simply beautiful.... Can I ask how big it is and what is the finish?

    Thank you and good job.

Thanks! It is 9 1/2" tall and 5" across. Finished with wipe on poly about 5 or 6 thin coats. Buffed out and waxed with Renavators Wax.

Sparky, when I look at this it makes me think of an art deco style. Beautiful piece and finish.

Here is a shot of the second bowl from that wood (just one coat of finish on it so far) and also the third one still on the lathe with the outside roughed out.
