    Mini Gloat With Pictures

OK it's not a major thing, but I decided to enter some items in the Mid-South Fair in Memphis and I could't beleive the results. Recieved a 1st place for a truck, a 2nd place for a segmented turning and a 3rd place for a clock. Thanks for letting me gloat and sorry for the photo quality.

Very cool, Keith. From the looks of things, the awards were well-deserved. I like all three pieces, but the segmented vessel is probably my favorite.

(John and Fred, a segmented turning is a bunch of different pieces of wood glued together in a pattern, then turned on a lathe into something round and hopefully cool. In Keith's case, it came out very cool -- pic #2.)

Beautiful work Keith. I'm a big fan of the truck. I started on a train a long time ago and still haven't finished it. Absolutely timeless. Congratulations for your well-deserved awards!

They all look great but, I believe the segmented turning should have placed higher!

  12. Wow, nice stuff!

Can we have more pics of the truck, please, please, please

Where did you get the design for the truck?

I'd love to make something like that, my Dad would really love it!!

    Cheers!
