Joe thank you, I will check this out.
Corian and presumably other solid surface materials can be routed by hand. I don't know about materials cost vs. something like thick PVC though.

HDPU, also known as HDU, is as versatile as you can get. It routs with ease, & if you like to hand-carve, it'll soon be your best friend. You can also sandblast it, with or without a faux woodgrain.
It's by no means cheap, but with minimal protection & a good quality paint, it's good for 30 years or more outdoors. Its biggest enemy? .... golf ball sized ( or larger) hail.
