    Ellipse

    ELLIPSE

This is a piece that did not get very much recognition. Made from 4 turnings cut apart into 6 pieces and reattached. The carved grape vine portion is Mahogany, the main body the vase, base and ring are Teak. The piece finished size is 10" x 10". The coloring was done with a combination of wood dye and Deco Art Metallics Acrylic paint, then the spray finish is lacquer. The vase body on this piece can be moved and so can the grape vine shell.

Not sure where or how it missed recognition, but that piece is fantastic.

Thank you Robert and Dwayne very much. Dwayne in just a general view, maybe because of the pieces style. However this time round it has had an overwhelming response.

I keep coming back here to admire this work. I finally realized that it is the splash of color provided by the flowers that completes this piece for me.

I really like this piece and can appreciate the hand carving. I'd like to see a pic without the flowers. I think it would look photograph completely different. Beautiful.

Thank you for taking the time to post the pics without the flowers. Its amazing how different the piece looks with and without the carved vines and without the flowers. The carved vine transform this into another dimension .

    Absolutely Magnificent!
Don't let it bring you down,
    It's only castles burning,
    Just find someone who's turning,
