    Beautiful work, Andrew, I love all the details! The pulls, the 45° corners, etc.!

    How did you find Alder as a wood for handtools? I’ve never made a project in it, but I am very interested in giving it a try.

    I have been speechless for a couple days, and appreciate the extra pictures.

    What I notice is the piece is very simply adorned to the non-woodworker. It looks simple and clean and elegant without quartersawn this and burl grain that and blinding museum grade finish. It is soothing to look at.

    But my God the workmanship! This thing is spectacular, without screaming for attention. I really really like it. Well done!
