I learn something new every day

We are in a spring cleaning mode right now (may take us until next spring to finish ) and we are selling different things at LOML's office and via eBay. No, don't worry, no unsolicited ads here. Anyhow we had this old lemonade/iced tea pitcher and glass set that had been taking up room on a shelf for years. We never used it, so why not try eBay? Well, I did a bit of research to find a category for it and came across this really cool glassware called "vaseline" glass. It looks fairly nondescript - just clear glass with a bit of green cast to it - that is until you hit it with black light! Turns out there is a bit of uranium mixed in with the glass that fluoresces under the right condition.
So being curious, LOML took a glass in to work and hit it with the black light in the lab (our black light is on the fritz ). The picture shows the result. A bit blurry, but I thought it was cool enough to pass along.

That's pretty cool. I'd never heard of that.
