We are in a spring cleaning mode right now (may take us until next spring to finish) and we are selling different things at LOML's office and via eBay. No, don't worry, no unsolicited ads here. Anyhow we had this old lemonade/iced tea pitcher and glass set that had been taking up room on a shelf for years. We never used it, so why not try eBay? Well, I did a bit of research to find a category for it and came across this really cool glassware called "vaseline" glass. It looks fairly nondescript - just clear glass with a bit of green cast to it - that is until you hit it with black light! Turns out there is a bit of uranium mixed in with the glass that fluoresces under the right condition.
So being curious, LOML took a glass in to work and hit it with the black light in the lab (our black light is on the fritz
). The picture shows the result. A bit blurry, but I thought it was cool enough to pass along.
